What is Lip Filler?

The lips you'd have with perfect sleep and zero stress.

Lip filler uses hyaluronic acid gel to add subtle volume, define lip borders, smooth fine lines, and restore hydration. The Korean aesthetic prioritizes natural proportions — typically 1:1.6 upper-to-lower ratio with slightly more emphasis on the lower lip. At JRYN Seomyeon, our 'unlimited lips' pricing covers both lips plus corners, ranging from ₩50,000 (Attierre) to ₩450,000 (Juvederm) with specialized Restylane Kysse (₩400,000) engineered for lips.

Lip Filler.

How it works

The science ,
simplified.

Understanding the mechanism helps you set realistic expectations and choose the right brand for your goals.

01

Proportion analysis

Dr. Lee measures your lip proportions — upper-to-lower ratio, projection from profile, vermillion border definition, and resting symmetry. Most patients want 'their own lips, just better' — not Hollywood-style volume.

02

Topical numbing + ice

Strong numbing cream for 15 minutes, plus ice immediately before injection. Lip filler contains lidocaine. Most patients rate discomfort 3/10.

03

Strategic injection

Dr. Lee uses multiple techniques depending on goal: linear threading for volume, microdroplets for border definition, tenting technique for vertical smile lines. Typical dose: 0.8–1.5cc total (upper + lower).

04

Gentle massage + cold

Gentle molding ensures smooth distribution. Cold compress minimizes swelling. You'll see results immediately, with full settling at 2 weeks. Optional touch-up included at 2-week mark.

Treatment areas

Where we inject ,
and why.

Each area has its own anatomical target, typical volume, and result timeline. Dr. Lee will recommend a personalized plan during consultation.

Area Concern Treated Typical Volume Results In
Upper Lip Body Thin upper lip, vanished cupid's bow 0.3–0.6cc Immediate
Lower Lip Body Thin lower lip, lack of pout 0.4–0.8cc Immediate
Cupid's Bow Flat upper lip peaks, no definition 0.1–0.2cc Immediate
Lip Borders (Vermillion) Blurred lip edge, feathered lipstick 0.1–0.2cc Immediate
Corners (Oral Commissures) Downturned corners, sad expression 0.1cc per side Immediate
Brand & price comparison

Frequently asked

Lip Filler
questions.

How much does lip filler cost in Busan?
At JRYN Seomyeon, lip filler prices (unlimited concept — upper + lower + corners, up to 2cc): Attierre ₩50,000, Neuramis ₩150,000, Rejuviel ₩190,000, Restylane Kysse ₩400,000, Juvederm ₩450,000. Restylane Kysse is designed specifically for lips and often considered the gold standard worldwide.
How long does lip filler last?
Lip filler lasts 6–9 months, shorter than other facial areas because the lips move constantly during eating, talking, and expressions. Restylane Kysse and Juvederm typically last 8–9 months; Korean brands 4–6 months. Annual or twice-yearly maintenance is typical.
Will my lips look fake after filler?
Not with our conservative Korean aesthetic approach. We start with conservative volume (0.8–1.2cc total) and can add more at a 2-week touch-up if desired. You'll have natural lip movement, can smile normally, and lips will look 'yours, just better' — not duck-lipped or overdone.
How much swelling should I expect?
Significant — lips swell 30–60% immediately after injection. This is NORMAL and necessary for healing. Plan for: Day 1–2: peak swelling (hide with scarf/mask if concerned). Day 3–5: 50% reduced. Day 7: mostly settled. Day 14: final result. Don't judge your lips before week 2.
Is lip filler painful?
Moderate — the lips are sensitive. We apply strong numbing cream (20 minutes), use ice, and the filler contains lidocaine. Most patients rate pain 3–4 out of 10 — uncomfortable but manageable. Dental blocks (optional extra numbing) are available for highly pain-sensitive patients.
Can I get lip filler if I have cold sores?
Yes, but with precautions. Lip filler can reactivate dormant herpes simplex virus. If you have a history of cold sores, we prescribe prophylactic antiviral medication (valacyclovir) starting 2 days before and continuing 4 days after. This prevents 95% of reactivations.
What's the difference between lip filler and lip flip?
Lip filler = HA gel that ADDS volume. Lip flip = botox that relaxes upper lip muscle for a subtle roll-out appearance (no added volume). They can be combined: filler for shape/volume + flip for eversion of upper lip. Filler is more dramatic; flip is subtle.
Can lip filler be dissolved?
Yes. If you're unhappy or experience complications, hyaluronidase (Vitrase) dissolves HA lip filler within 24 hours. We always offer this safety option. This is why we only use HA fillers in lips — never permanent or semi-permanent alternatives.
At what age can I get lip filler?
We treat patients 18+ for cosmetic lip filler. Most patients start in their 20s–30s for enhancement or in 40s+ for volume restoration. Very young patients (under 22) are approached conservatively; we often recommend starting with lip flip (botox) before committing to filler.
Do you offer English-speaking consultations for lip filler?
Yes. JRYN Seomyeon offers consultations in English, Japanese, and Chinese. Lip filler is highly aesthetic — discussing goals in your native language ensures perfect communication. Bring reference photos. We'll analyze your lips relative to your face and recommend a customized plan.
