What is Vascular Laser?

Targeted by color, not by skin.

Vascular laser uses specific wavelengths (typically 532nm or 595nm) selectively absorbed by hemoglobin in blood vessels. The laser energy heats and collapses unwanted vessels without affecting surrounding skin — a principle called "selective photothermolysis." At JRYN Seomyeon, we choose between three platforms based on vessel depth and skin type: Excel V (532nm/1064nm) for superficial redness and rosacea on Asian skin, Vbeam Perfecta (595nm) the gold-standard pulsed-dye laser for severe flushing, Quanta 585 (585nm) for hemangiomas and stubborn deep vessels.

How it works

The science ,
simplified.

Understanding the mechanism helps you set realistic expectations and choose the right brand for your goals.

01

Vascular assessment

Dr. Lee identifies your concerns: rosacea, broken capillaries (telangiectasia), facial flushing, cherry angiomas, port-wine stains. Each responds differently to vascular lasers.

02

Topical numbing

Numbing cream is applied for 15 minutes before treatment. Most fillers also contain lidocaine, so injection discomfort is minimal.

03

Targeted laser pulses

Excel V, Vbeam Perfecta, or Quanta 585 — wavelengths absorbed by hemoglobin. Vessels coagulate and gradually clear over 2–4 weeks. Mild bruising possible with stronger settings.

04

Instant result, 2-week settling

Results are visible immediately. Minor swelling and firmness resolves over 1–2 weeks, revealing the final natural-looking contour. Effect lasts 12–18 months.

Frequently asked

Vascular Laser
questions.

How much does vascular laser cost in Busan?
At JRYN Seomyeon: Excel V ₩200,000, Vbeam Perfecta ₩250,000, Quanta 585 ₩180,000 per session. Full-face protocols ₩300,000–400,000. Packages available for chronic rosacea.
What conditions can vascular lasers treat?
Rosacea, facial flushing, broken capillaries (spider veins), cherry angiomas, port-wine stains, post-acne redness, and some vascular birthmarks. Dr. Lee assesses each case.
Is the treatment painful?
Sensation is like a rubber band snap. Topical numbing reduces discomfort. Modern devices include cooling spray that further minimizes pain. Most patients tolerate without injection numbing.
How many sessions until I see results?
Individual broken capillaries: 1–2 sessions. Diffuse rosacea: 3–5 sessions. Persistent flushing: ongoing maintenance. Improvement is cumulative and progressive.
Will my rosacea come back?
Vascular lasers reduce visible redness and broken capillaries. Underlying rosacea tendency remains — triggers (sun, alcohol, spicy food, stress) can cause flares. Avoidance + maintenance keeps it controlled.
Is there any downtime?
Minimal for low-energy settings (mild redness 1–2 hours). Bruising possible with aggressive settings (5–7 days). Most patients schedule treatment for Friday and return to work Monday.
Can vascular lasers help with rosacea triggers?
They reduce visible signs but not underlying triggers. Dr. Lee combines laser with topical metronidazole, ivermectin, or oral doxycycline for comprehensive rosacea management.
What's the difference between Excel V and Vbeam?
Vbeam (PDL): yellow light, classic gold standard for redness, may bruise. Excel V (KTP+1064): dual-wavelength, less bruising, versatile for fine and deeper vessels. Quanta 585: similar to Vbeam, lower cost.
Are vascular lasers safe for Asian skin?
Yes — at appropriate settings. Asian skin requires careful energy selection to prevent post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation. JRYN uses Korean dermatology protocols for Fitzpatrick III–IV.
Do you offer English-speaking consultations for vascular laser?
Yes. Send photos in natural lighting via WhatsApp or LINE — including a "trigger" photo (after exercise or alcohol if relevant). Dr. Lee will recommend the appropriate vascular laser.
