They contain biodegradable microparticles suspended in a gel carrier — injected into deep dermis or subcutaneous tissue, where they stimulate fibroblasts to build new collagen gradually over 4–8 weeks. The carrier dissolves in days; the collagen stimulation lasts 12–18 months. Juvelook is the original; Collaum is its refined successor with improved particle uniformity.
